Last weekend the dev team successfully migrated our CRM application and data from one datacentre to a new datacentre with new servers.
This involved moving from 32 bit Windows 2003 Server and MySQL, to 64 bit Windows 2003 Server and MySQL, as well as a host of underlying RAID, ODBC drivers and add-ins.
It was all completed last Sunday morning and the new servers are about 10 times as fast as the old ones. Over the last year our subscriber base had grown both in numbers and the quantity of data held, the latter both because of bigger customers and because the older customers are accumulating more data. And as one of our mantras is that for successful CRM adoption the system has to be as fast as the user, it was key for us to maintan that <0.1 second page delivery goal that we set ourselves.
So our thanks to the team for working so hard over the weekend to deliver a smooth migration.
